Grant UK • Find an Installer
Helping customers locate their nearest installer for their specific heating solution.
Grant wanted to add functionality to the site to help bring together their approved engineers and potential or existing customers to help both sides find what they need. For property owners that was being able to find someone to who can either install a Grant product, or service or repair an existing system they have. For installers that was finding new customers.
The functionality of the Find an Installer system has evolved over the years from a simple address lookup to the current more refined and tailored solution as the number of potential installers and heating systems have evolved and grown. For this most recent version we worked closely with Grant to define the optimal user journey and experience to find the results they need. We reviewed the questions that needed to be asked, the microcopy that formed this process and the way the choices are presented. We wanted users to feel like there was an active process happen as they progressed and that when they received their results at the end would be happy they had found potential installers and engineers that could actually help them.
Location based search
When a client first lands on this area they are given a dynamic address search. When they start to enter their address, postcode or company name the system will explore XXX and find all possible addresses. The user just needs to review the results as they are delivered and either choose the correct one or add further details.

Choose which service is needed.
Step 2 is a series of multiple choice questions to help users define what help they need. The first of these questions asks the user to define whether want an installation or need a repair or service. Depending on the choice of answer they may get a follow-up question with a choice of Yes or No as to whether their heating is working.

Filter results based on heating solution.
The final question of Step 2 asks a user to define what type of products are used in their heating system. This helps further refine results as some installers may only have training or be able to work with certain types of systems. This helps ensure customers aren't delivered results that will be of no use to them.

Results tailored to the customers needs
The final step is the delivery of the results. These are shown on a map as well as listings and the order they are shown is based on the proximity to the customers location from Step 1. Only results that match the type of service required and heating system type are shown but the listings also indicate other systems they can work on as well.

Contact your chosen Installer
After the results have been delivered to the customer they can then choose up to 3 to submit an enquiry to. The site will take all the details provided by the customer and send them to all three installers as well as Grant so they can track the success of the experience for both the customer and the installer / engineer.
