Following the build of the G1 Portal and App, Grant UK approached 16i with the requirement for a redesign and build of the corporate website.

The Challenge

Key aims of the project were to refresh the branding, streamline the user journey, and ultimately increase user engagement and enquiries. We also needed to ensure that the two key demographics; homeowners and professionals (engineers/installers) were catered for within the site.

The Approach

User experience was very much at the forefront of the project. Working closely with Grant we refined and optimised the existing site structure to amalgamate content and improve the user journey – guiding customers to the most relevant part of the site in as fewer clicks as possible.

To assist the two user demographics find the content they needed as well as make management easier for Grant we made the decision to split the site into two versions. To make access as easy as possible we devised a simple mechanism in the main nav to allow users to switch wherever they are on the site.

Beyond this the key considerations were ensuring users were able to browse the product catalogue, find an engineer or installer to help with their Grant heating system, find out further information on Grant and get support for any problems they may be experiencing with their Grant products.

Homepage

Conveying the Grant brand proposition with clarity.

When Grant asked us to look at their website they wanted to make sure that the homepage elevated their brand to match the exacting standards it was evolving into within the heating industry. Their existing site was functional but needed a fair amount more consideration for funtionality, flair and most importantly clearly communicate to users what Grant has to offer in it's products and as a business.

Product Pages

Enhancing the way products and ranges are showcased.

One key part of the site that needed work were the product pages. Whilst the content needed to be technical, the evolution of the Grant brand needed to be more inclusive for the consumers and professionals alike. We wanted to create a layout that would feel informative enough to the average homeowner with minimal technical knowledge but equally present the technical information in a way that was easy to digest and visually appealing.

Find & Compare

Comparison tool to help user find the correct heating solution.

As part of the improvements to user experience and enhancing for consumers and homeowners, Grant wanted to include a product comparison tool. This would enable users to input some key requirements and the site would recommend two heating products, comparing them side by side to see. The consumer is then able to review which would be optimal for their home and heating requirements.
